Introduction
With the launch of the S24 series in January 2024, Samsung went all in on software optimization providing more close-to-reality-looking photos and videos. However, it is expected that the S25 cameras will bring more upgrades on the hardware and the software front as per the latest leaks from Galaxy Club on its launch in early 2025.
S25 Cameras and S25 Plus Cameras
The New Report suggests that the phone cameras for the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Plus will see the same camera specs for the main lens and selfie camera. The primary camera is anticipated to be a 50MP shooter accompanied by the 12MP selfie shooter on the front. Despite these non-upgrades, software optimization will play its part in improving the quality to a good scale.
Samsung chooses to walk on the same reliable path for lens choices that were followed through its three previous generations – the S22, S23, and S24. However, it is to be noted that there is no further information as to the ultrawide and telephoto lenses which will also be impactful in determining the overall grid for the Non-Ultra S25 cameras.

S25 Ultra Cameras
The S24 Ultra was the only model out of the three from the S24 series that received major camera hardware upgrades this January. The Ultra-rocker featured a quad camera setup of a 200MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, 10MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom, and the upgraded 50MP telephoto camera with 5X optical camera.
The rumored camera setup on the S25 Ultra will be a major upgrade in the camera department. The quad cameras will feature a 200MP(a new version of Samsung’s 1/2.76″ ISOCELL JN1 sensor) main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 50MP(a new 1/3″ Samsung ISOCELL sensor) telephoto camera with the previous 3X optical zoom and another 50MP telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom.
Though these specifications have been rumored, it will be a while before we get to know the exact camera features which will happen with the launch event for the S25 series in January 2025.
